Sarah Hornik

Sarah Hornik artist profile
www.glassbysarah.com

To make a long story short…A strange series of coincidences led me to discover lampwork in November 2005. I took a course with the talented and experienced Amnon Elbaz at Gil Raphal , a local glass supplier and school here in Tel Aviv. It was so different from anything I’d ever done before. Fascinated with the magical, unfamiliar world of colour and form, transparency and light, temperature and gravity, I was instantly hooked. My life has changed dramatically since then. It took just a few months for me to abandon my 8-year long career as a web designer. I am now a full-time beadmaker, spending all the time I can at the torch in my little home studio in Tel Aviv, Israel – and enjoying every minute of it!
